I was scheduled to interview for the detailing job at Jaguar at 4PM. I'm so antsy to get there and get it done. I know I'm probably going to do alright. And if they don't hire me, it'll only be because I have no professional experience with the work. Thanks to everyone who wished me luck when I applied on Tuesday. :)
In other news, I'm totally going to do this to the E34 wagon if I can find the time. Man, PlastiDip has come a long way.

I love detailing, It is an easy profession to pick up on. I had 0 experience when I was hired at a Honda dealer. Good luck there shouldn't be as many gross used cars for you, as there were at Honda.

I figured, what better way to make some money than by fondling expensive cars? Thanks!

Just be warned you may not be a full detailer. When I was at Honda I was a sales porter which means I did everything our full detailer, but I also had to do the bitch work. Plus they don't pay you as much. On the flip side I never had to detail a disgusting used car I only did the new ones.

I've done some research and it looks like it may be a full position. They have several porters listed on their website as such, so I hope I don't have to do that as well.

Fingers crossed you get it. It can be a lot of work but I really enjoy doing it as a hobby to relax. I was a 'sponge monkey' when I first left school and in the last few years I've taken on board lots of testing of products and trying out new techniques of washing, polishing and dressing cars. Before my mom bought her BMW 4 years ago, I told the sales associate I wanted a job first. Really cool, guy, said no problem, and that summer I was detailing some fine ass cars. Didn't have any experience.
Here's the thing, the new cars are easy and you take pride in making them as clean as possible. Customer cars that are brought to you can go two ways. Fairly clean, but you still have to detail everything, so it just becomes a pain in the ass. Or, a filthy car you can't wait to make as clean as you can. I loved when people brought in muddy soccer mom x5s.
But, I will say, at the end of that summer I only enjoyed washing one car: my own. After a while, for me, I wasn't as passionate about it since no one really cared about their car as much as I did mine. But I know you will enjoy the hell out of it, and you should get to drive some fun stuff. M3s made detailing special.

There's a 100% chance I'll get to drive an F-Type! They have like 12 of them! And I know that lots of people care about their cars, even if they don't openly show it.

Ye', in the U.K. we haven't had that much good weather to get anything done but I couldn't take it anymore and washed mine yesterday in the snow.
The withdrawals were so bad I was getting tremors. Lol.
